We had a lot going on last night at the Scout meeting. Starting with a run down of administrative announcements that included the restructuring of future Leaders meetings. We then followed with a "hot wash" of the recent Klondike Derby. To hear about the experience through the words - and for that matter, the eyes - of the scouts made it that much more impactful. Finally, we began the Eagle Scout Merit badge: Emergency Preparedness. Here we learned how easy it is to confuse earthquakes for ghosts...(inside joke). Our Scouts were fully engaged and we are all looking for toward continuing this badge a Troop when we reconvene in two weeks.
Note: Last night, we worked on the first two pages of the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge Workbook. Please download and print out the rest of the workbook and bring with you to our next regular Scout meeting on February 16.
Here are a few other things we discussed last night:
A trip to the Navy Seal Museum in Suffolk County Long Island. Check out the below link.
A future presentation to discuss Floodwood High Adventure Camp
Order of the Arrow
