Well, what do you think?

When I got home last night, I was still feeling the heightened effects that dopamine has on your outlook when it is coursing through your veins. Our scouts have been doing an incredible job and it was so awesome to be able to recognize them in front of their families. Yet, at the same time, it dawned on me that this Scouting experience between my own son and me was cruising on by. Laying in bed, my mind started to wander and I thought back to a time when we were first pitched on Troop 138 and how High Adventure camps, namely Seabase, would become a memory that I would cherish with my son. That is when reality hit....time is finite! And without planning I would miss that opportunity with my son....

This morning I awoke and sitting in my inbox was an email, entitled "2024 High Adventure Base registration is open!" You can talk about serendipity, but when you are living it your world gets a bit clearer for a moment.

"National High Adventure is the opportunity to take our Scouting experiences to the next, adrenaline pumping level. It is different from a traditional Scout summer camp experience, merit badges aren’t the focus (but that doesn’t mean you can’t earn a few while you’re at it) and instead it’s all about making memories and getting experiences that will stick with you for life."

So my question to you coming off a night like last night, is what do you think? Should we as a Troop plan for a future High Adventure trip??? Think about it. Visit the following link.

It will take planning, fundraising, and commitment. But it will be all about the memories.

Yes, we should definitely consider it. The feedback I've gotten from other scouts / adult leaders has always been positive.
