Me
Kudos to Scott Roberts for taking the time to show Alex, Charlene, and me how to upload achievement and merit badge info into the troop master and national council. Alex Les and Charlene will follow up at next week's meeting regarding expectations to ensure our Scouts are all on the rode to Eagle.
We followed with a great discussion on developing our calendar of events for the next few months. While more work needs to be done on this to carry us through the year to not only ensure we are having scouting events monthly but we can include monthly hikes (spearheaded by the SPLs from 138 and 138G, and Mr. Les and Mr. Roberts), but we also want to ensure we are taking into account the balance you as scouts and parents have to manage between school, family, scouts, sports, and other activities. That said, sanctioned Troop 138 events will only be communicated through the website, which include registration, associated calendar notifications, etc.
While we encourage our scouts and families to participate in other social and volunteer events, we also want to be conscious of your time. We will stick to the process of canvassing our membership for interest, balancing conflicts that we can forecast, and then registering and paying for (if needed) for events/outings in a systematic way. While they may every so often arise, it is our goal to refrain from creating last minute scenarios for you to attend because of poor planning on our collective end.
We are super excited to continue the great work that Scott Roberts and his leadership team have advanced over the years with Troop 138, and look forward to partnering with 138G and the Venture Crew in expanding the reach of the 138 unit while increasing scouting opportunities for all our members.
