Tonight, the Troop 138 Merch Store will close. This effort was a success in that it combined several leadership themes that the Troop has learned over the past few months.
The first was the importance of Scouts being boy-led. Shortly after Mr. Lempenau taught our scouts about parliamentary procedure and the importance of rules of order our scouts requested a new Troop logo and worked through an orderly, fair and transparent process to arrive at a new logo.
Second, it highlighted the value of Scout spirit in that Scouts are always seeking to support others and demonstrate the shared ideals of the Troop.
Lastly, it furthered the importance of fundraising and Scouting. This past November our Scouts pitched in for an Eagle Service Project at a fundraiser at OLV to assist with financing. Having scouts fundraise allows them to contribute to raising the awareness of Scouting and advancing our Troop's mission. Of course, each Scout will be further tested on the importance of fundraising when they are required to host their own fundraiser for their own Eagle Service Project.
Great work by Troop 138! The boys are learning incredible leadership lessons that will assist them with tackling life's challenges.
